Cal Beisner Discusses Cap-and-Trade Bill on Richard Land Live Radio Broadcast
By E. Calvin Beisner, Ph.D.
Radio talk show hosts run the gamut from the hyper-focused to the hyper-diffuse, but Richard Land takes the cake for one who connects all the dots from world view to doctrine to church history to economics to environment to tiny details of specific legislation. Our discussion on “Richard Land Live” June 27 was great fun and, I hope, as helpful to our listeners as it was fun for us. How often is it that two guys start out to discuss cap-and-trade legislation and wind up talking also about 17th-century English Puritans and Scottish Presbyterians and the advance of religious liberty and how that shaped America’s constitutional order? We ranged over nuclear and solar and fossil-fuel energy technologies, global warming science, growth of government and its intrusiveness into our garages (e.g., one part of the big cap-and-trade bill passed in the House June 26 specifies codes for recharging outlets for electric cars in garages), and a sore of other topics. Go here to listen to the lively show.
